The SIR regulations are based on the vision that safe working is only possible in the event of an integrated approach to 3 risk factors, namely: People, Means and Methods.
  • People, which is competent as a result of education, training, examinations and certification.
  • Means, which, when put to use, fulfil certain requirements, and continue to do so during use, as determined by periodical inspections and tests
  • Methods, which apply to commissioning companies,implementing businesses and inspection bodies.
The following is a summary of the main objectives:
  • the prevention of unsafe working situations through the application of the unequivocal SIR
    regulations
  • the stimulation of the development of safe equipment
  • the issuing of approvals to equipment inspection bodies
  • examinations
  • the issuing of professional competence certificates
  • the development of safe working methods
  • the encouragement of standardisation
  • the creation of a national interest group for industrial cleaning which protects the shared
    interests of the parties
